NIACC men fall to Iowa Western, 115-65
MASON CITY - The NIACC men's basketball team dropped a 115-65 decision to No. 20 (NJCAA Division I) Iowa Western Saturday night in the NIACC gym.
Iowa Western led 56-36 at the half and outscored the Trojans 59-29 in the second half to claim the nonconference victory.
Patrick Dembley led the Reivers with 27 points. Also in double figures for the Reivers were Adalberto Diaz (12), Rhyss Lewis (12), Decardo Day (11) and Emmanuel Ugboh (10).
NIACC (4-1) was led by Jaycob Payne and Harrison Mills with 10 points apiece. Orrington Hamilton scored eight points and Nick Wurm and Mac Skogen both scored seven points.
Wurm dished out eight assists. Payne and Skogen led the Trojans with seven rebounds each.
NIACC returns to action Sunday at the Wartburg College Junior Varsity. Game time is set for 4 p.m. in Waverly.
