NIACC men fall to Iowa Western

COUNCIL BLUFFS — The NIACC men's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season on Tuesday as the Trojans fell 123-79 to Iowa Western.

"We just didn't play good defense," NIACC coach Mark Mohl said. "We'll learn from this and bounce back."

NIACC (6-1) led by four points with two minutes left in the first half but trailed 58-50 at the break.

Darnell Taylor-Breck had 17 points to lead NIACC, Ben Moss added 16 points and Matt Baker also reached double figures with 10 points.

Also for NIACC, Tim Trousell and DeAndre Burnside each had eight points while Brad Rathjen and Josh White had seven points apiece.

NIACC plays Northeast CC at 1 p.m. on Friday in the Great Western Shootout in Fort Dodge. The Trojans play NDSCS at noon on Saturday.
