NIACC Dance Team set to start second season

MASON CITY - The 2017-18 NIACC Trojan Dance team will consist of 14 members in its second season.

Members of the team will are Avery Allen (Mason City), Cassidy Allison (Sumner-Fredericksburg), Sandra Bontemps (Charles City), Ashlyn Buseman (Belmond-Klemme), Addyson Clark (North Butler), Madisyn Harper (West Fork), Samantha Harper (West Fork), Serenity Laue (Sparta, Wis.), Cecilia Novotney (Waterloo Columbus), Kaitlyn Olson (Sparta, Wis.), Samantha Schupanitz (Mason City), Kaitlyn Stroup (Clear Lake), Alyssa Thoreson (Forest City) and Elyssa Wilson (Newman Catholic).

Samantha Harper, Schupanitz and Wilson were members of the 2016-17 NIACC Dance Team.

In its first year of competition, the NIACC Dance Team, under coach Tina Wihlm, received three Division I ratings in its three routines at the Iowa Dance State Championships in December.

NIACC tied for third with Southwestern in the community college division in its Pom routine and was fourth in the Hip Hop and Jazz competitions.
