Bio

Doug Gove begins his third season as the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator for the NIACC baseball team for the 2024-25 season.

Gove comes to NIACC from Southeastern Illinois College, where Gove was the pitching coach. In his first year at Southeastern Illinois College, the pitching staff saw immediate improvement lowering the team ERA by over three runs per game. The pitching staff also struck out the most hitters in 10+ years, along with lowering hits given up by 160.

Prior to Southeastern Illinois College, Gove worked as the pitching coach for three years at Central Christian College in Kansas. In the 2020 season, the pitching staff posted the second lowest team ERA in the last 10 years at CCC.

Before coaching at CCC, Gove spent four years in the Seattle area coaching for an elite baseball program with the FCA Baseball Club. While at FCA, Gove assisted over 30 pitchers in moving onto the next level in collegiate baseball.

Gove's passion for player development and self-growth pushes athletes using data-proven mechanical training, velocity-based throwing and mental skills discipline to reach peak performance and create stand-out pitchers.

Gove is currently certified in Titleist Performance Institute Level 1, Rapsodo Pitching, Driveline Foundations of Pitching and in Pitch Design.
