NIACC's Beethe drafted by Brewers
NIACC right-handed pitcher Harrison Beethe was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 39th round of the 2019 MLB Draft on Wednesday.
Beethe, who signed with TCU in the fall of 2018, was 0-1 with 15 strikeouts and eight walks in eight innings pitched in the 2019 season. Injuries limited Beethe during his sophomore season with the Trojans.
Beethe, who is from Fort Worth, Texas, was the third NIACC player to get drafted in the 2019 draft. Brandon Williamson, who pitched for the Trojans in 2017-18, was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the second round and Bryce Ball, who played for NIACC in 2017-18, was picked in the 24th round by the Atlanta Braves.
