FORT DODGE - The NIACC baseball team swept a doubleheader from Iowa Central on Saturday.
The Trojans received a complete-game, five-hitter from Tyler Lien to win the opener 5-2 and they won the second game 10-7 by scoring six runs in the ninth inning.
In the first game, Lien held the Tritons to two runs with six strikeouts and two walks in seven innings of work.
Kamrin Arons powered the NIACC offense with a home run and two RBIs. Joey Werner was 2 for 3, including a double, and drove in one run.
In the second game, NIACC (22-17-1 overall, 11-6-1 in the ICCAC) trailed 7-4 heading into the ninth inning. The Trojans plated six runs in their half of the ninth and Chase Stewart held Iowa Central scoreless in the last half of the ninth to claim his fourth save of the season.
Arons and Daniel Nikitovic both drove in two runs for the Trojans. Werner was 3 for 5, including a double, with two runs scored and one RBI.
NIACC and Iowa Central wrap up the four-game series with a doubleheader on Sunday.
