NIACC drops league opener to Southeastern, 2-0
LA CROSSE, Wis. - The NIACC baseball team dropped a 2-0 decision to Southeastern in the first game of an ICCAC doubleheader on Monday.
The second game of the twinbill is tied 3-3 in top of seventh inning of 9-inning game, which is delayed because of rain until noon on Tuesday. The Trojans have runners at first and third with one out and Fox Leum at-bat with a 2-0 count.
Southeastern scored two earned runs off NIACC starter Brandon Williamson in the fourth inning. Williamson (2-3) allowed four hit with eight strikeouts and one walk in six innings of work.
Southeastern held NIACC to one hit - a single from designated hitter Kamrin Arons.
After finishing the second game of Monday's twinbill on Tuesday, NIACC (8-12 overall, 0-1 in the ICCAC) and Southeastern (17-5, 1-0) will play their regularly scheduled doubleheader.
NIACC coach Travis Hergert is seeking his 200th career win. The sixth-year coach has a career record of 199-112.
