1966 (Coach: Art Lundblad)
In its first season being called North Iowa Area Community College, the Trojans completed a 5-2-1 season in Art Lundblad's last year as coach.
Lundblad stepped down as football coach after the 1966 season and became the school's athletic director. With the separation of the community college athletic program from the Mason City public school system, it was necessary for NIACC to have its own athletic director.
Lunblad won 74 percent of his games in seven years as coach of Mason City Junior College and one year as coach at NIACC. Lundblad's 1964 team went undefeated.
One of Lundblad's main responsibilities as the athletic director was scheduling for the school's athletic teams. Bob Heston was responsible for scheduling the athletic events at Mason City Junior College from 1950-1966.
In the 1966 season, the Trojans won their first four games over Marshalltown, Norfolk, Neb., Waldorf College and Fort Dodge. They also gained a 6-6 tie with Worthington, Minn., in Week 8 and wrapped up the season with a 36-13 win over Estherville.
Earning all-Tri-State Conference honors for the Trojans were Tom Anderson (defensive end), Reinhold Berg (wide receiver/linebacker/kicker/punter) and Jeff Ternes (saftey/kick and punt returner).
Berg caught five touchdown passes and averaged 17 tackles per game with 23 tackles in the Trojans' 16-14 loss to Centerville.
Ternes led the team in interceptions and returned three kicks for touchdowns.
