Bio

Kirk Hardcastle has served as NIACC's sports information director since October of 2012.

Hardcastle worked as a sportswriter at the Globe Gazette in Mason City for 17 years (1995 to 2012). He also worked as a sportswriter at The Messenger in Fort Dodge from 1993-1995 and worked as a sportswriter at The Daily Tribune in Ames from 1992-1993.

Hardcastle received the Iowa High School Athletic Directors Association Sports Media Award in 2012 and received the 2014 News Media Award from the Iowa High School Athletic Association.

Hardcastle graduated with a Bachelors Degree of Science in Journalism and Mass Communication from Iowa State University in 1992. Hardcastle graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1987.

Hardcastle was a primary announcer at the 2016 and 2022 Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association all-star series held in Mason City. Hardcastle is also the public address announcer for the NIACC baseball team and the Mason City High School baseball team and the official scorer for the Mason City High boys and girls basketball teams.

Hardcastle attended the 2013 CoSIDA national convention in Orlando, Fla.

Hardcastle has a son (Aaron) and daughter (Emily).
