Arlo Stoltenberg (distinguished service award)
Arlo Stoltenberg, recipient of the Distinguished Service Award, has exemplified unwavering support for NIACC athletics throughout his extensive tenure.
Joining the institution in 1967 as an educator until his retirement in 2020, Stoltenberg’s dedication extended beyond the classroom as he also assumed the role of coach for the school’s track and field team.
Under Stoltenberg’s guidance, the NIACC track and field program soared to remarkable heights, securing consecutive state track and field titles in 1973 and 1974.
Stoltenberg also was the "voice of the Trojans", manning the microphone as public address announcer for the basketball teams over the years. A fixture at NIACC sporting events even today, his biggest impact was in the classroom, teaching thousands of NIACC students including many of student-athletes over the years.
His leadership, mentorship, and enduring commitment have left an indelible mark on the athletic community at NIACC, earning him welldeserved recognition for his invaluable contributions to the institution’s sporting legacy.
