2024 NIACC hall of famer Tina (Harding) Carter (1994-1996)
Tina (Harding) Carter played an instrumental role in propelling the NIACC volleyball team to the national tournament in both 1994 and 1995.
In 1994, Carter showcased her prowess by leading the team with 19 kills during pool play, contributing significantly to their performance as they secured a 1-2 record. The following year, at the 1995 nationals, she continued to excel, ranking second on the team with 21 kills in pool play, despite another 1-2 outcome for the Trojans.
Carter’s talent and leadership extended beyond her college years. She made history by joining the inaugural volleyball team at Southern Methodist University (SMU), a NCAA Division I institution in Dallas, where she notably served as team captain.
Transitioning from player to mentor, Carter’s coaching journey saw her take the helm as the head volleyball coach at Grand View University for several years, leaving an indelible mark on the program through her dedication and expertise.
Her contributions to both the game and the next generation of athletes exemplify her enduring impact on the sport of volleyball.
